In terms of stocks, they have gone up approximately 1000% in these past 5 years. Although they used to be ranked lower than Adidas, they have overtaken Adidas, which used to be ranked #2. Nike is #1 and Under Armour is #2 for US sportswear sales even if Adidas has been around for longer than Under Armour. Therefore, they are a very rapidly growing and expanding company. UA = Company? In order to reach the target audience, Under Armour uses social networking sites to interact and spread their brand name, such as Facebook and Twitter, since that generation uses those sites very frequently. They have been very successful using this method. They are also able to keep up with the current trend with the generation so they can appeal to their target audience more effectively. Because their target audience are young athletes, they keep up with and incorporate the trends between the teenage generation. By altering their products in a way that would appeal to their target audience, they are able to gain more sales, as well as popularity. The more popularity, the more sales. As a result, they have been able to have rapid growth as a sportswear company. For example, super heroes are popular between their target audience due to the numerous Marvel movies being released. Therefore, they incorporated the logos of the different heroes in their glove products to appeal to the teenagers. By doing so, they have effectively appealed to the young athletes and have gained popularity between the young athletes. ATHLETIC KNOWLEDGE. Under Armour has a unique company management. Plank created his own way of managing this company. Plank has control over the management of this company since he is the CEO. Because of his experience as a college football player, he has incorporated the idea of "working together as a team" to manage his "team" effectively, since Under Armour is a sports related company. He uses athletic knowledge, serving as the "captain" of his "sports team", but emphasizes the idea of "huddles" and "huddling" instead of "gathering" or "meetings". This is a unique way of managing the employees of a company compared to other companies. He makes the company a sports company all the way from the core to their products and view from the public.
