White supremacist groups such as the KKK, Neo-Nazis, and Racist Skinheads account for 12 of the active 24 groups in Arkansas. Black Separatist groups such as the Nation of Islam and the New Black Panther Party have a total of three chapters in the state. There are two groups categorized as Racist Music. Two groups are categorized as Christian Identity, these groups preach a religious themed message about the role of white people in society. The General Hate category includes five organizations that promote home schooling, racist themed goods and churches. The Alabama-based Southern Poverty Law Center has identified 24 active hate groups in Arkansas, according to the centers website, SPLCenter.org. These groups publicly espouse views considered hateful by the center's standards. These groups fall into seven main categories: Racist Skinhead, Ku Klux Klan, General Hate, Racist Music, Christian Identity, Black Separatist and Neo-Nazi. Most of the activity identified on the center's website is in the North Central region of the state, but a few organizations are located near the state's capital and in the western region. The majority of the groups espouse white supremacist views, there a number of businesses located in the state, but none appear to be in good standing, according to Arkansas Secretary of State's website.
