The Environmental Sustainability of Starbucks Sustainability goals include: "to inspire and nurture the human spirit- one person, one cup, one neighborhood at a time." Starbucks, also, wants to find collaborators, grow to $15 a year, make innovative solutions, use what they already learned, encourage customers & partners, and source 100% of its coffee beans by 2015. The company wants to create a positive impact on the community, so they have opened farmer support centers in foreign countries, created employment opportunities for youths, etc. Major sustainability efforts such as reducing water use by over 21% over baseline levels, saving 25% more money, recycling at 67% more locations, & expanding the green building program have improved the company. More statistics consist of: 65% of LEED stores have been created, decreased by 7.1% in energy consumption,decreased by 21.1% in water consumption, implemented 39%of stores with up-front recycling, & 1.8% of beverages served in personal tumblers. Starbucks shows their love for the environment by focusing on renewableenergy, energy conservation, climate adaption, & mitigation efforts. They invented greenhouse gas admissions, conserved & restored natural habitats, etc. Cool Fact #1: Starbucks is known for being made of human connections, getting involved with the community, & being very diverse with cultures.
