In Russia for new years instead of throwing out their Christmas tree they use it for new years, and give it a new name. Christmas dinner is a many different things including, goose, and they also love suckling pig. Russian children believe in Grandfather frost instead of Santa Clause. Christmas can last from December 31st to January 10th. Mostly all businesses are closed for New Years! They start eating dinner late on December 31st. Russians don't eat any meat or fish on their Christmas feast. They have desserts like fruit pies, gingerbread, and honey bread They keep their schools closed until January 10th. my house for Christmas we do many things that involve with my family. For example when we wake up we unwrap all of our presents, and then we invite all of our family over for a big breakfast. After Christmas in my house we usually take off all of the ornaments, and then we throw our tree away. But in Russia they keep their tree for New Years, and give it a different name! I think thats really cool, but thats my opinion. Also in my house we only celebrate New Years for one day. But in Russia the celebrate New Years from December 31st all the way up too January 7th.
