Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 What is Collaboration? Emma Bliesener, Ian Mason, Ariel Williams, James Rivers, Ace M. "Collaboration can be found almost anywhere. Some of the roots of collaboration are found in natural social skills developed by children through play. When these lessons are learned in childhood, we learn that together, we can accomplish more than we can usually accomplish alone." SOURCES: What is collaboration to you? 1. 2. 3. Analogy by: James Rivers Harrison Fords assembly line. He designed the assembly line, a simple idea centered around working together to, for example expedite the process of making an object in a sequential manner. This process is usually faster, more effective, more modular than creating something by the old fashioned process of hand. While the factories and companies reap the benefits of the productivity of an assembly line, consider the assembly of a car. Assuming that certain steps in the assembly line are to install the engine, install the hood, and install the wheels. In traditional production, only one car would be assembled at a time. If engine installation takes 20 minutes, hood installation takes five minutes, and wheel installation takes 10 minutes, then a car can be produced every 35 minutes. It is the perfect idea of collaboration, working together to be together to accomplish something, together.
