He had a tumour in his right leg, in order to stop the spread of the cancer, he had it amputated 6 inches above the knee (15 cm). Terry Fox in training For his training Terry Fox ran over 5,000 kilometers (3,107 miles ) .He convinces the Canadien Cancer Society (CCS) to sponsor his run, also lots of other companies for shoes, transportation, water and food. He trained for over 14 months. The Actual Run Terry Fox started his run on april12 1980 in St.Johns Newfoundland. He ran around 26 miles(42kilometers) a day every day. he ran for 143 days,5,373 kilometres in total that's a marathon a day!!! The End Of Terry Fox's Run The End Terry fox ended his run on June.28 exactly 1 month his birthday.He had run 3,339 miles during his run. He ended his run just outside of thunder bay He was taken to the hospital for he had many sharp pains in his chest. There he discovered the cancer he thought he had conquered hadspread to his chest and lungs. Terry Fox sadly passed away on sept.1st1980 Terry Fox was born on July 28 His full name is Terrence Stanley Fox Big Events After IDFSGSHNDRYXRFT Terry Fox had a goal of raising one dollar for each and every one person in Canada. (24.1 million) By Feb 1st his goal was complete with over 650,000,000 $ have been raised since then so his goal has been realized over 10 times.
