Christ M anctification S alvation You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (Matt 22:37).Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Prov 3:5). What side are you on? The CULT TRUE CHURCH Jesus Christ is the leader of the True Church. He demands complete commitment and regards Himself and His words as the absolute Truth. The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law. The true church functions successfully because of the order and procedures set in place by the Word of God. Questioning, doubt, and dissent are discouraged or even punished. True Church Checklist Cult The True Church of Jesus Christ The "cult checklist" is a popular analytical tool on the internet for recognizing the characteristics of a cult. However, the real question is not whether a church is a cult, but only "is it the True Church of Jesus Christ?"There are only two churches: the False Church and the True Church... The true church determines itself to take on the mind of Christ, being renewed from depravity and being washed by the very word of God. just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word (Eph 5:25-26). Mind-altering practices (such as meditation, chanting, speaking in tongues, denunciation sessions, and debilitating work routines) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s). The leadership dictates, sometimes in great detail, how members should think, act, and feel (for example, members must get permission to date, change jobs, marryor leaders prescribe what types of clothes to wear, where to live, whether or not to have children, how to discipline children, and so forth). The leaders of the true church always instruct in alignment with the Word of God. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim 3:16-17). The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s) and members (for example, the leader is considered the Messiah, a special being, an avataror the group and/or the leader is on a special mission to save humanity). The Church has a MANDATE to come against any and all rulers and powers of darkness that come against the very Word of God. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Eph 6:12). The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society. Leaders are held to the highest accountability in the true church. They are accountable in how they lead their home, in their conduct, and in maintaining integrity to the word of God. They will give an account to the Lord Jesus Christ for each life they impact. Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed (Prov 15:22). For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach...hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it (Titus 1:7-14). The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations). The Church is preoccupied with saving souls. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit (Rom 8:1).Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed (Jam 5:16). The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. This may result in members' participating in behaviors or activities they would have considered reprehensible or unethical before joining the group (for example, lying to family or friends, or collecting money for bogus charities). The leadership induces feelings of shame and/or guilt in order to influence and/or control members. Often, this is done through peer pressure and subtle forms of persuasion. Subservience to the leader or group requires members to cut ties with family and friends, and radically alter the personal goals and activities they had before joining the group. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by therenewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will (Rom 12:2).The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition envy, drunkenness and the like. those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires (Gal 5:19-24). At the time of salvation, Jesus Christ regenerates the individual to become a new creation. This is what it means to be born again. The old has gone and the new has come. dont you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God (Jam 4:4).what counts is the new creation (Gal 6:15). The True Church is never preoccupied with money. For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills (Ps 50:10). I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging bread (Ps 37:25). The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members. The group is preoccupied with making money. Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities. Members are encouraged or required to live and/or socialize only with other group members. It is never a burden for the true church to meet, but rather a joyous celebration that brings unity, love, and fellowship among the brethren. If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose (Phil 2:1-2). The church believes there is no greater life one could live than to be in the presence and love of God, the Father. go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you (Matt 28:19-20a). The most loyal members (the true believers) feel there can be no life outside the context of the group. They believe there is no other way to be, and often fear reprisals to themselves or others if they leave (or even consider leaving) the group. JOY How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? (Rom 10:14) JOY The true church of Jesus Christ is universal and consists of people of all races, tribes, and tongues that believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. ACCOUNTABLE eaders Salvation and sanctification are the end goals of the true church, and Jesus is the only Way. The true church distinguishes between Godly sorrow, which brings repentance and leads to salvation, and worldly sorrow, which only brings regret and death. The true church of God is the light of the world and the salt of the earth. International Cultic Studies Organization. Web 1 Jul. 2014. Langone, M. Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matt 28:18-20).But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Pet 2:9). neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom 8:38-39).There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love (1 John 4:18).Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked (Ps 84:10).
