The Desert The Desert - violent sandstorms- yearly rainfall is 3 to 4 inches- sand dunes rise up to 800 ft. Temperature: 120 degrees to below freezing Adaptations: - camels are used for transportation- wear long gowns for protection against heat, dust and flies- raise sheep and goat for milk and wool- trade animal products for valuable goodsin towns and villages Livability Rating: I give this a 3 because the temperatures can get very hot during the day and very cold during the night but having sheep and goats can protect them by making clothes. You also have milk and yogurt and have long gowns to protect against dust, heat, and flies. Trade Rating: I give this a 4 because Nomads who lived here know every trade route to each town or village and the goods there are valuable. Physical Features: Physical Features: Oasis Oasis -violent sandstorms-Yearly rainfall- 3-4 inches-sand dunes rise up to 800 ft. Temperature: same temperature as desert but feels cooler because of shade Adaptations: -grow fruits such as dates, peaches, and grains-shade and food-paths in desert lead to oases-homes makes out of trees-turned into trading centers and towns Livability Rating: I give this a 5 because it has a resource of food(fruits), and you can make homes out of trees. Even though it occurs in a desert, you still have shade. You can farm for good vegetation and theres fresh water with plant life. Trade Rating: I give this a 5 because oases can turn into trading centers and towns and with that you can get a lot of money. Maps of the Arabian Peninsula Maps of the Arabian Peninsula
