This is called Ramadan, which happens on the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It is the month to fast and purify yourself. Muslim fast to remind themselves how lucky they are to have food, and that not everyone gets to have it. Muslims are to abstain from drinking and eating during daylight hours. The direction Muslims face when they pray is West (the location of Mecca). It is believe to be Islams holiest place. Hajj is the journey to the holy sites in Makkah to perform various rituals.
