Fun Fact:These early compasseswere made withlodestone, a form of themineral magnetite that isa naturally-occurringmagnet and aligns itselfwith the Earth's magnetic field. I believe that the Song Dynasty had the best achievements for many reasons. First of all, they made printed books. Now we can print papers out instead of having to write everythingout, making mistakes. They also made gunpowder. If there was no gunpowder, it wouldchange the course of history since so many wars were won using gunpowder. Also, theymade the compass. Sailors use them, and if there were no compasses, everyone would belost out at sea, not knowing which direction to go.
