Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) Technological Knowledge (TK) Pedagogical Knowledge (PK) Pedagogy is involves using the different methodsan educator can use in teaching and learning. This area focuses on understanding how students learn, general classroom management skills, lesson planning, and student assessment ("www.tpack.org"). I think that pedagogical knowledge is at a place where I can learn more ways, but I am still quite comfortable at different approaches of teaching. I have had experience teaching from being a Sunday school teacher, a study buddy, an in school mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and working and volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club for two years. From these experiences, I have learned to adapt to different needs and situations, and discovered creative and fun ways of learning. CK is the knowledge on a particular subject matter a teacher may have (Koehler, n.d.). Personally, I think I do not have a lot of content knowledge, because I do not know a lot about what the curriculum is in elementary schools, as I am only in my second year of university. I hope to be more informed about the different subjects in my third and fourth year as I take more education content courses and learn about the curriculum in my practicums. TCK INTERSECTION S: TPK Content Knowledge (CK) PCK TK is the ability to use different technological tools and resources (Koehler, n.d.). I would say that my ability to use technology is average, since I am fairly comfortable in using social media for my personal life. I also, use technology daily at school and home to help me with homework, take notes, and gather research. TPK: Technological Pedagogical Knowledge is using technology at the appropriate times in the classroom in a way that is most effective (Koehler, n.d.). The different modules in EDU 210 has developed the way I use social media and the internet for my future career as a teacher. From using Google sites and Pinterest to create and expand my personal learning network and poster making sites such as easel.ly and Poster My Wall, I am now more confident in using technology to enhance my teaching.TCK: Technological Content knowledge is using the best type of technology to teach a specific type of subject matter (Koehler, n.d.). I feel as if I could use different kinds of technology to teach subjects like science and math through videos and online websites, however I still find it difficult deciding when technology is needed for a particular content.PCK: Pedagogical Content knowledge is the way teachers present the subject matter, alter their teaching based on the students, and it covers the core business of teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment and reporting (Koehler, n.d.). I think that I have very little PCK, because although I have had practice working with students outside the school setting,I haven't had too much experience of teaching in the classrooms. I also do not have a firm grasp on what thecurriculum is like in schools. PK involves using the different methods an educator can use in teaching and learning.
