Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Noah/Nuh Noah (referred to as Nuh in the Qur'an) was a righteous man whom God chose to save from the flood. God inflicted a large flood upon the sinful world as punishment, resulting in everyone being wiped out except for Noah, his family, and 2 of each kind of animal. Noah's Story in the Qur'an vs. his story in the Bible: Noah always preached to the people saying they should stop worshipping false idols. He says, "surelythey are going to meet their Lord, but I see that you are an ignorant people" (11:29). Allah sent Noah to guide the people but they constantly chose to not listen to him. Because they ignored Noah's warnings,Allah sent forth a flood as punishment.Allah instructed Noah to build an ark in order to keep his family and 2 of every animal safe from the flood. Qur'an Bible Noah was a righteous man who "found grace inthe eyes of the Lord" (Genesis 6:8). God was displeased with the sinful worldand planned on sending forth a flood to punish everyone. Because Noah lived his life dedicated to the Lord,God wanted to save him. He instructed Noah to build an ark and gather his family and 2 of each animal.Only through Noah's sons did the Earth re-populate. Main message: God saves those who are faithful to Him and live out His expectations. A main difference between these two texts is that in the Qur'an, God sends the flood after He sends Noah to warn the people. In the Bible, God doesn't warn them first, he simply saves Noah and brings forth the flood without warning. Works Cited:1) Droge, A.J. "The Qur'an: A New Annotated Translation."
