How did this amendment change American society when it was passed? How does it affect American society now? Even to this day and age, Americans stillstage protests and petition the government. Examples: There is even a website launchedcalled,"We the People" that makes it even easier to petition the government. There was once a protest that involved one millionpeople a.k.a. the, "Million Man Marchon Washington." Examples: At first, the people involved in the Whiskey Rebellion hadpetitioned the government about the tax, but failed.
