On June 14th they were issuing threats on the radio about going to school. They said things like "On June 15th, an official ban will begin. Girls will not be allowed to go to school. Malala Yousafzai is a young girl who came from SwatValley, where the Taliban havetaken over the peaceful land.The Taliban believe that girls and women should not go to school or have a job. Lastly, the government agencies such as the Taliban are only powerful when people are scared and obey them. If people are not scared and they don't obey them, then they lose all their power. Malala is viewed by many people as a symbol of the fight for children's education. The Taliban probably think she is a threat. Children who don't have an education thinkshe is someone to be like and to hope thatshe will one day give them an education. Malala said that she would have not even shot at the "Talib" who fired on her, stressingnon-violence was the only way to pursue herfight to educate the children.
