When he wassmall he used to play with his white american neighbour. But at the age of six, the neighbours mother told Martin to not play with her son anymore. Thats when he first got the taste of racism.After graduating from college, he joined his father as worked as a preacher. Soon after hestarted to work as a preacher, a black americannamed Rosa Parks was arrested because shedidn't let a white person sit when there was noother spot. Soon after the event, Martin joineda protest campaign and quickly became the leader using his strong speeches to motivate people to fight against civil rights. MONTGOMERYBUS John F. Martin Luther King Jr. What change did Martin Luther King Jr. want Martin Luther King Jr. wanted black people to be treated equally because he thought that there was no reason for black people to give up a seat for a white person or why black people had to sit at the back of the bus. He also wanted equal rights for a black person to have his/her own business instead of the white people taking over and having to wait for their acceptance to do something. Back then, blacks were forced to use separate public utilities and schools from the superior ones reserved for whites; they suffered routine discrimination employment and housing, as well as abuse and killings from some whites, and they were unable to fully exercise their right to vote according to the law. Martin Luther King Jr. thought that equal rights werent given to the black people. Also, as a child Martin Luther King Jr. faced lots of different bad experiences which were caused because of his skin tone. What change occurred after Martin Luther KingJr. did peaceful protest? In 1956, after the Montgomery Bus boycott the Supreme Court decision banned segregated buses. Also, after the Civil Rights Act in 1964 andthe Voting Rights Act in 1965, the segregation laws changed around the country because thegovernment were convinced that segregation laws are wrong.
