Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Ferdinand married Sophie, a Dutchess of Hohenberg in 1900. They were married for 14 years. Ferdinand and Sophie were assassinated on June 28th, 1914 in Sarajevo. Gavrilo Princip was the man who shot both of them. Franz Ferdinand was not very well liked within the aristocratic circles. Gavrilo Princip was a young Serbian teenage nationalist who was asked to commit suicide after the shooting.Instead he was arrested and was supposed to be in prison for 20 years, but died after 4 of Tuberculosis. Sophie & Franz had three children together. Princess Sophie of Hohenberg, Maximilian,Duke of Hohenberg, & Prince Ernst of Hohenberg.
