Before Colombia was colonized by Spain, their main export was gold. After Spain discovered Colombia, they introduced them to more resources such as cattle, different fuels, several other metals, etc. Colombia also produced their own exports such as bananas, coffee, and emeralds that became their leading exports. The GDP growth in Colombia relates to my topic because it shows how their economy has grown. Colonization has a lot to do with their economy growth because Spain introduced them to new resources and without Spain, their GDP wouldn't be like this now.
