When using another individuals works it's importantto look at the type of licenses they have attributed their work, so as to know your rights. Attribution Copyright: This type of license allows you to share and adapt the work, aslong as you give appropriate credit, and indicate if any changes where made. Copyright Attribution-ShareAlike: This type of license allows you to shareand adapt the work, so long as you give appropriate credit, and you adapt the original work, the new work must be under the same licenses as the original. Attribution-NoDerivs: This type of license allows you to share the work, as long as the work remains unchanged and the author is credited. Attribution-NonCommercial: This type of license lets you adapt the work, so long as the adapted work is non-commercial and you must acknowledge the original author. Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike: This license allows you to adapt the original work non-commercially,as long as you credit the original creator and license it under the same terms. Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs: This licenses you to share the work, so long as you credit the original creator, but you cannot change it or use itcommercially. Fair use allows limited use of copyright material without permission. Examples of fair use include commentary, search engines, criticism,parody, news reporting, research, teaching, library archiving and scholarship.Fair dealing is the same as fair use, but includes the following clauseuser must mention the source of the material, along with the name of the author, performer, maker, or broadcaster for the dealing to be fair. Copyright grants the original authot of a work excluisve rights to its use and distributionfor a limited time. this enables the creator to receive compensation for the efforts.
