Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Tang and Song acheivements Tang Dynasty Song Dynasty China sold so much silkthe Romans called them"the land of silk". Silk Iron There were 104 iron mines and all over the country, excluding Southwest. Poetry Talented poets were well-respected and often recited their poetry as entertainment at parties. Compass Because of the compass, the Song dynasty had the first standing navyin world history. Gunpowder The Mongols copied the Songsthe idea of using gunpowder in war and ended up using those weapons against them. Movable Type Millions of copies were made of some popular books allowingbooks to become affordable to everyone. I think the Song Dynasty made more significant achievements because they used some of the Tangs inventions but then expanded them to create something larger and more important. For example, the Tang invented printing but the Song invented paper money, printed books, and movable type. Paper money really made a big effect on China. At the time it was hard for them to make enough copper coins. When they invented this their economy grew. Printing books was another important development. It helped spread ideas more rapidly. The Song even invented the compass and many years before Europe did. The compass allowed ships to sail further from land. Without the compass Europe wouldnt of been able to explore the world and discover many places.
