Created with Fabric.js 1.4.5 Queen Victoria Able to Strategically Plan Queen Victoria showed her ability to strategically plan when she married off her children into royal houses. She kept in close contact with each of her children in order to keep an eye on the rest of thecountry. This allowed for her to always know what was happening around her. Queen's influence during the middle years of her reign was generally used to support peace and reconciliation. For example in 1864, Victoria pressed her ministers not to intervene in the Prussia-Austria-Denmark war, and her letter to the German Emperor (whose son had married her daughter) in 1875 helped to avert a second Franco-German war. Has the Cooperation of the People The young modest, straightforwardyoung queen quickly gained the respect of her subjects. Queen Victoria's popularity grew a lot from the 1870s and onwards. In 1877 she became the Empress of India which gained her the cooperation and respect of many. Is Decisive Even though she was only 18 when shebecame queen, she made the decision to rule by herself, without anyfurther help from her domineeringmother. Although conservative in some respects - like many at the time she opposed giving women the vote - on social issues, she tended to favor measures to improve the lot of the poor, such as the Royal Commission on housing. She also supported many charities involved in education, hospitals and other areas. double click to change this title text!
