There are two types of Declarative memory, EPISODIC and SEMANTIC. Episodic memory is remembering the events and experiences and Semantic memory is remembering information and facts. SHORT TERM MEMORY Short term memory can only last less then a minute and can only hold up to 7 pieces of information. It is said to have the ability to remember and process information at the same time. SENSORY Sensory store memory is the shortest element of memory. It can only hold memory for less than a second. It collects from the five senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch but very briefly. EXAMPLE: H.M MEMORY. AMELIA & KRISTY H.M was a man who suffered with epileptic seizures and to cure his seizures, parts of his medial temporal lobe, hippocampus and amygdala was removed, this cured his seizure however he was diagnosed withanterograde amnesia, no only could he not learn or remember things after the surgery but also loss 11 years of his memory (when he was 16 years old). Through H.M psychologist have found out that memory isn't only stored in the hippocampus but also in other parts of the brain.
