Megacities face a lot of challenges due to population, pollution, unemployment, etc. We have megacities because people are leaving the rural areas and flocking to urban areas. This means that megacities are created to sustain all the people. Some megacities handle the population well and the city thrives (e.g. Shanghai) and some megacities dont and leave many people in poverty or in the slums (e.g. Mumbai). Some of the things the governments of megacities have to consider are public transportation, housing and employment. Because these megacities have better health systems the population of the world is growing.
