Salt River Pima Maricopa Community School PV Tribune reported a district middle school's successful letter grade appeal from D to C based on a disruption involving a school lock-down on the day of AIMS testing. LEAs chose to appear before the A-F committee in-person. 7 appeals of 2014 A-F letter grades. The committee granted The highest letter grade from a successful appeal was a addition to any information and documentation submitted. The inaugural year of the Expedited (desktop review) & NON-Expedited (in-person) appeals process was executed over the course of a three-month period. ADE Accountability provided data and logistical support; ADE Legal Services (with help from the AZ Attorney General's Office) facilitated each committee meeting. Schools with a substantive appeal were provided a copy of the rubric outlining the Committee's final decision.
