This infographic, created by roadtrippers.com, was released just before Halloween last year. Beautifully made, it begs you to look a little deeper to find out what mythic monster defines each state.

Good design is what makes a good infographic, but thoughtful marketing is often what defines its success. This infographic was released the week of Halloween. It features time-appropriate material, content (and value) in-line with the origin blog’s content, and professional design that demands to be shared across a variety of platforms. This is how you use infographics to bring in an audience.

The Most Famous Movies Set in Each State

Melia Robinson and Frank Pallotta of Business Insider used a variety of data and criteria to define the most famous movies for each state.

“…we evaluated the state’s prominence in the movie and leaned toward movies that were filmed in that location as well. The movie’s lifetime gross, its critical acclaim, and testimonials by our geographically diverse staff also influenced our decision.”

The Most Popular TV Show Set in Each State

Inspired by a similarly-named map by by Redditor SomeGuyFromCanada, this infographic’s creators didn’t agree with all of his choices – so they made their own.

“… we looked at television series as opposed to reality shows. Selections were based on each show’s longevity, audience and critical acclaim using info from IMDB/Metacritic, awards, and lasting impact on American culture and television.”
